SPR announces NEW 3D Mammography capabilities at our Maplewood Imaging Center Campus

| News, News

St. Paul Radiology is pleased to announce that we are expanding our services at our Maplewood Imaging Center with the addition of a NEW Hologic Selenia® Dimensions® breast tomosynthesis, a new breast imaging technology that combines powerful 3D imaging with conventional digital mammography.

This unique new imaging system allows for better visualization of the breast tissue and helps physicians improve the accuracy of their exams, which gives patients peace of mind.

Early detection is the best defense against breast cancer, but conventional mammography can miss some cancers and produce a significant number of false positives, which can cause undue stress and anxiety for patients.

If something suspicious is discovered in a patient’s exam, the goal is to get her definitive answers as quickly as possible. Our new breast tomosynthesis offers powerful, versatile screening technology that can help physicians find cancers earlier and reduce unnecessary call-backs.

Breast tomosynthesis helps radiologists find cancers missed by 2D mammography alone. With SPR’s advanced breast imaging solutions, physicians can lower treatment costs, improve outcomes and help patients return to productivity sooner.

Our advanced breast imaging system provides physicians with:

  • Exceptionally sharp images
  • Seamless transition between imaging modes
  • Simplified operation
  • Advanced clinical applications
  • Tomosynthesis-guided biopsy
  • Design for patient comfort and ease of use

Benefits include:

  • Greater accuracy, resulting in a better likelihood of early detection.
  • Fewer unnecessary call-backs, which can reduce anxieties.
  • Potential to reduce unnecessary biopsies.

St. Paul Radiology remains committed to providing excellence in diagnostic imaging, consultation, and interventional radiology services. Patients can count on our highly trained radiologists to continue to deliver the highest quality image interpretations, consultations, and comprehensive radiology services with complete continuity of care through our network of imaging centers, urgent care centers and hospital locations - 24/7/365.
