Specialty Services
Patients are often referred to the Vein Center of St. Paul Radiology by their primary care physician because they recognize the signs and symptoms - leg pain, aching legs, throbbing legs, redness, itching, swelling- of vein disease in patients. But patients can also call us directly for an initial consultation and evaluation, no physician referral is needed. During this initial consultation patients will get a complete ultrasound examination, which requires no advance preparation by patients. This examination will evaluate blood flow in deep and superficial veins of both legs. Your deep veins run through your muscles and your superficial veins run underneath your skin. Learn More.
Immediately following your examination, your physician will meet with you to discuss and explain your treatment options. Initial consultations typically will take 1.5 hours and are scheduled M-F between 7:30am and 2:30pm. We recommend patients call their medical insurance provider to determine their benefits prior to the initial consult.
After treatment options are reviewed, the Vein Center staff will schedule your procedure, work with your insurance company if the procedure is deemed medically necessary, and coordinate any necessary follow-up appointments. Typically, Vein Center staff will take "before and after" procedure photographs and answer all patient questions regarding recovery expectations. So if you have signs or symptoms of varicose veins or vein disease, consider calling The Vein Center of St. Paul Radiology today at 651.454.7224.
