About Breast Imaging

Breast imaging is devoted to the diagnosis of disease of the breast.  SPR radiologists commonly interpret screening and diagnostic mammography, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).  In addition, these radiologists routinely perform procedures in the breast, including needle biopsies (stereotactic, ultrasound or MRI guided) wire localization and ductography. The American Cancer Society believes the use of regular mammograms, MRI (in women at high risk), clinical breast exams, and finding and reporting breast changes early, offers women the best chance for reducing the risk of being diagnosed with an advanced breast cancer.  Don't delay, schedule your screening mammogram today!

About Continuity of Care & Breast Imaging- The Choice is Yours

What is continuity of care and why is this so important?  Studies indicate that early detection is critical in breast cancer treatments.  Early detection can often come by way of review and comparison of prior imaging.  When patients present to any location served by SPR breast imaging experts these physicians have access to the prior imaging studies needed, immediately.  When suspicious findings are diagnosed, not only can SPR act immediately on these finding but they require further work up that often rightly involves, a multi disciplined approach to decisions, treatments, and patient care.

The collaboration needed to ensure the medical community (including pathologist, oncologists, general surgeons, and others) has the most accurate and updated imaging typically comes from SPR the radiology providers who serve the East Metro area hospital-based Breast Centers and SPR outpatient imaging centers.  When you are faced with the possibility of breast cancer, we are the care team that can ensure your imaging gets to all providers who can help you.  So ask for St. Paul Radiology by name, when scheduling your next mammogram appointment.
