1961

Dr. Thomas Johnson performs and institutionalizes several new interventional radiology procedures.
Dr. Thomas Johnson became the first radiologist to bring percutaneous selective angiography into private practice. He also introduced coronary and adult angiocardiography, vasoconstrictive and chemotherapy infusions, peripheral vascular dilatations, vena cava filter placement, selective pulmonary arteriography, balloon angioplasty and intrathrombotic thrombolytic infusion to St. Paul Radiology's practice

1962

St. Paul Radiology Installs it’s First Automatic Film Processor.
Prior to this date all films were hand processed and hung to dry prior to readings. The drastic advantage to the automatic processor was the labor savings for technologists and shortening of report turn around times.

1964

First Interventional Radiology Procedure
Dr. Charles Dotter, the father of interventional radiology performs first angioplasty procedure.

1966

First Interventional Radiology Embolization
The first embolization procedure is performed by a interventional radiologist.
